Social Launch at Foobar a Smashing Success

Kate Wiswell & the crowd listen to the welcoming remarks at the first SoFFA event.
How should we measure the success of our event? Perhaps by the twenty-five beverage tickets that quickly disappeared? Or the cocktail shrimp, rice balls, and tasty chicken that vanished? Or maybe it was all that loud, lingering laughter?
Thanks to Aaron Weiderspahn who
said he attended the event because,
"There's nothing sexier than a woman
filmmaker." Aaron is pictured with

Thanks to the folks at Foobar in downtown Portsmouth for throwing us a terrific party. We couldn't have asked for a better venue, more delicious appetizers, or friendlier staff.

Thanks also to our standing-room-only crowd* who helped shape the memorable event. Many ideas were shared, dreams of films made by our Granite SoFFA team exchanged, and plans were penciled in.  (*Okay, we'll admit it: we took away the chairs so people would have to stand and socialize.)

Thanks again to all those who were able to join us last week!
